Integrated Evaluation

Hematologic disease often requires multiple sources of information. Depending on the case and available testing, evaluation may incorporate peripheral blood and bone marrow morphology, histology, immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, cytogenetic findings, and molecular results.

Curtis Alan Gravenmier, M.D.

Hematopathologist

Dr. Gravenmier grew up in Orlando, Florida, and graduated from Winter Park High School before studying chemistry at Florida State University. He attended medical school at the University of South Florida and completed residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Then, he returned to Florida for fellowship training in hematopathology and cytopathology at Moffitt Cancer Center.

Outside medical practice, Dr. Gravenmier enjoys spending time with family, DIY projects, gardening, sports, hiking/camping, and going to the beach. He does his best to keep up with his two sons and make every day its own adventure.

M. Frances Wright, M.D.

Hematopathologist

Born and raised in Nashville, TN. Graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in History of Art. Spent time working at Vanderbilt in a cancer biology lab and at both Vanderbilt and the NIH as a bioethics researcher before going to medical school at Vanderbilt. Completed Anatomic and Clinical Pathology residency followed by Hematopathology fellowship at Vanderbilt, followed by a Gastrointestinal Pathology fellowship at Duke.

In my free time, I enjoy cooking, vegetable gardening, running, tennis, reading, and spending time with my family and Rhodesian ridgeback. I also have an interest in architecture and design.
